About Me

Passionate about the optimal application of limited resources to business objectives, I provide technical leadership and guidance to internal and external teams, all around the globe. An experienced software and music industry executive, in my 20+ year career I have acted as evangelist or consultant for the best practices that lead consistently to customer success and satisfaction balanced with company revenue and profit, in three domains:

  • Digital Music Fulfillment, Copyright Reporting and Administration
  • Software and Web Globalization/Internationalization/Localization
  • Computational Linguistics/Natural Language Processing and Understanding

Before Napster, as VP of Technical Sales and Solutions at MediaNet, the world’s leading B2B SaaS digital music fulfillment and copyright administration, royalty reporting and payments platform, among many responsibilities, I led multiple, concurrent, multi-million dollar, 6-12-18-month, *enterprise* API integrations with customers ranging from Fortune 100 companies to startups while also managing my own sales pipeline (read: *closing deals*), jointly overseeing others’ queues, and supporting the entire sales team for technical matters. For clarity, to me “enterprise” means the highest standards of communications, project management, service level, and customer success and satisfaction. I know how to pull the tactical levers of cost/resources, schedule/speed, and quality to best meet the strategic balance between external and internal requirements.

Earlier, as an individual contributor program manager or international project engineer, I personally spec’d, negotiated, and shipped high numbers of concurrent 3-6-12-month internal and customer-oriented projects and/or product and feature development, with budgets up to $2M. Later, as team lead or manager of single then multiple teams, I facilitated the same at greater scale, while also developing/mentoring my staff.

I spent seven years at Microsoft, working on cool products like English and Japanese grammar checkers, an English semantics module (an early Cortana, if you will), and more "traditional" products like Small Business Server, Microsoft Operations Manager, and Vista (Windows 8).

With strong analytical skills and integrity-driven communication skills, I create solutions and get things done.
